1969 Triumph T100C Trophy
Very nice condition 1970 Trophy 500 (titled as a ’69, probably sold new in ’69). These little 500s are great examples of what made Triumph so popular: light, nimble, low, and zippy. Sure they don’t have the panache of their bigger 650 siblings, but they fill a niche of their own. It’s even more admirable when you consider than all the other competition, in order to expand their ranges, simply offered two of the same bike, one fitted smaller pistons, the other with larger (BSA A50, Norton 650, Royal Enfield Meteor Minor, Matchless G9, etc). Triumph’s 500s were almost unique in that they were a stand-alone motor (themselves based on a the smaller 350) with their own frame and running gear. This allowed the Triumph to carry itself substantially better on the road and track as it was (essentially) an over-powered 350, instead of an under-powered 650. There’s a lot to like. And this one is very likable. We will perform a full service and fluid change at the time of sale. A very approachable classic.
