Project Description

1968 Royal Enfield Interceptor

PRICE: $13,450

The Royal Enfield Interceptor has achieved an almost mythological status amongst vintage Brit bikers.  Made in small quantities, it’s massive engine demanded respect back in the day, and still cuts a fine line today.  Train-like pulling power, macho good looks, and tractor-like dependability.  The Mk1As (such as this fine example) carried all of the best qualities from the earlier version, but added an improved styling, oiling, and ignition.  A winner all around.

This resto-modded example will make any owner happy.  Fitted with a later Norton front end, massive fully-floating front rotor and six piston brake caliper, electronic ignition, belt drive primary, one-piece alloy cylinder block, electronic Smiths speedometer, massively improved oil system, rare factory oil cooler, rear sets and, most amazingly, a Fritz Egli-built motor and transmission.  This bike has also been outfitted with vintage Lucas turn signals for a higher level of usability and modern day compliance.

Not to be missed.  A one of a kind bike with a ton of provenance and heaps of real-world performance!
