1966 BSA A65L Lightning

PRICE: $8,450

1966.  What a year!  Somewhere in the mix, BSA soldiered on with its still fairly fresh, unit construction A65.  The changes for the year were mild, but turned out to be iconic.  BSA’s famous “hump back” seat was introduced, and the previously black headlight was replaced with a more modern chrome unit.  The half-width front hub and deeply valanced fenders were a holdover, which make this model a mixed bag: really a striking combination if you ask me.

This machine wears its age well, gracefully and on its sleeve.  Matching numbers and mostly correct (new Amal Concentrics replace the worn-out and leaky original Monoblocs).  She’s a beaut!
