1965 Triumph T120R Bonneville
’65 Bonnevilles have always been on my favorites list (I think, along with ’67 TR6Cs and ’68 TR6R, it is part the Holy Trinity of Triumphs). Carrying on with the big tank, parcel grid, “mouth organ” tank badges, heavy flywheels from the earlier generation unit construction bikes; they still had an elegance belying their sportiness. Traditional English conservatism meets mid-’60s hotrod culture. A dichotomy of yawn and yelp. This is a nice one. Came back with Randy on a recent trip to the southeast. I believe the legendary Leo Goff has had his hands on this bike at some point, so I would count the mechanicals as somewhere better than just a-ok. And it’s a stunner to look at as well. Big bars, skinny grips. Twin clocks. Pacific Blue and Silver. Matching numbers and clear title. Grab it before it gets away.
